Anne Andrews

Ms. Andrews' specialties include complex litigation and class action cases involving product liability, pharmaceuticals, medical devices, dietary supplements, ephedra, personal injury, and mass torts.

 

A Southern California native, Ms. Andrews has practiced law in Orange, San Diego, and Los Angeles counties for over 18 years. Ms. Andrews has been invloved in several mass torts including: In Re PPA Litigation (MDL-1407); In Re Diet Drugs (Phentermine/Fenfluramine/Dexfenfluramine) Products Liability Litigation (MDL-1203); and In Re Silicone Gel Breast Implant Products Liability Litigation (MDL-926). She served as a member of the California plaintiff's steering committee and science committee in all of these mass torts.

 

Most recently, Ms. Andrews has been involved in litigation in state and federal courts against the major manufacturers of ephedra supplements. She has been litigating ephedra products liability cases since 1998. The injuries of these clients encompass cardiac arrhythmia, myocardial infarction, hemorrhagic and ischemic stroke, seizure and primary pulmonary hypertension (PPH).

 

Ms Andrews has been appointed by Hon. Jed. S. Rakoff, Southern District of New York, to be a member of the Plaintiff's Coordinating Counsel in In Re: Ephedra Products Liability Litigation (MDL-1598). Additionally, Ms. Andrews was appointed by Hon. Cornelius Blackshear of the New York Bankruptcy Court to serve on the Official Tort Claimants Committee responsible for the representation of personal injury claimants in the Twin Lab bankruptcy. She was principle negotiator of the successful resolution of 68 personal injury claims. Ms. Andrews also serves as Co-Plaintiffs Liaison Counsel in JCCP 4360, In Re: Metabolife 356 Cases, consolidated before Hon. Ronald Styn in San Diego Superior Court.
